Ringo Starr to open Chelsea 2013 garden

The world famous drummer supports WaterAid at the Chelsea Flower Show for the second year running.

1 May 2013

Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr will officially open our Indian-themed Artisan garden at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.

Inspired by WaterAid’s life-changing work in areas of India that experience flooding, the garden is created by award-winning designers, Patricia Thirion and Janet Honour of A Touch of France. It is sponsored by international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills.

This is the second year that Ringo, one of the world’s most famous drummers, will support WaterAid at the UK’s top flower show, which runs from 21 - 25 May.

Ringo said: "I’ve supported WaterAid for many years now, and I share their vision of clean water for everyone, everywhere. Frankly, it’s unacceptable that nearly 800 million people worldwide don’t have clean water.

"Simply having access to water can transform lives – this garden shows how this can happen, and captures the incredible flavour of India, right in the heart of London. This is a very special Artisan garden that tells a powerful story; come and experience it for yourself."
