WaterAid's partnership with ethical mineral water Belu Water has scooped the highest accolade in its category at the Third Sector 2013 Business Charity Awards.

WaterAid and Belu won the award for small business charity partnership of the year for their hugely successful collaboration that sees social enterprise Belu donate 100% of its profits to WaterAid.

In July 2011, Belu pledged to donate a minimum of £100,000 a year to WaterAid for three years, a target that has already been exceeded in the first 20 months of the partnership. To date, donations from Belu mean that WaterAid will be able to transform the lives of 20,000 people in some of the world’s poorest communities. The successful partnership has now been extended to 2020.

WaterAid's Claire Pearson and Belu's David Balhuizen accepted the award from television news presenter Huw Edwards, who hosted the ceremony in central London.

Claire said: "We're delighted that our partnership has been recognised at the Third Sector awards. A big thank you to Belu and its customers - your commitment means that WaterAid is now able to provide clean water and sanitation to even more of the world's poorest communities who currently live without these vital resources.

"We look forward to continuing our successful partnership and transforming even more lives."

WaterAid ambassador Rachel Stevens recently collaborated with Belu Water to create a limited edition wrap for its six pack of bottles, available in Sainsbury's. Find out more here >
