Get out your cameras and smart phones. On November 21, our very own Hallie Tamez, Associate Director of Major Gifts will carry a 40-pound jerry can filled with water across Manhattan in solidarity with the women and girls across the globe who have no choice but to do this every day.

If you spot Hallie on Friday, November 21, take a photo, post it to Instagram, tag @WaterAidAmerica and #Steps4Water for your chance to win dinner for two at Spasso in the West Village. See the map below. We’ll have a few other goodies to handout along the way too.

Hallie’s hike around Manhattan is part of WaterAid’s biggest #GivingTuesday challenge yet. Like Hallie, we hope you’ll be an everyday hero inspired to step up and help tackle the global water crisis.

748 million people live without safe water and almost 40% of the world’s population doesn’t have adequate sanitation
said Ms. Tamez.

“The #Steps4Water event will highlight the daily experiences of women and children living without clean water. As we shed light on this issue, we look forward to welcoming new supporters to help raise funds on #GivingTuesday, December 2, 2014.”

The trek will begin on Broadway at 44th Street in Times Square and end at the United Nations on 45th Street and First Avenue. See you on Friday, Nov 21 at Broadway at 44th Street!
