Policy and research
All of WaterAid's international offices are engaged in policy and research work. Click the links below to visit our international website for more details on each of the areas.
WaterAid believes that privatization of water and sanitation services should not be imposed upon poor countries.
Our Citizens' Action projects are enabling poor people to hold water and sanitation service providers to account.
Funding for water and sanitation needs to increase and improve to ensure investments reach those most in need.
Climate change and associated impact on water supplies will disproportionately affect the world's poorest people.
WaterAid lobbied to establish the right to water and is now working to help the poorest people achieve that right.

WaterAid and its partners can only directly help a small proportion of those without water and sanitation worldwide. In addition to direct implementation work WaterAid aims to influence the policies and practice of the main decision-makers, donors and public, to gain their commitment to the provision of these basic services.
