Put life-saving clean water within reach

When you give this Christmas, you’ll put life-saving clean water within reach for more people like Ama Ermelinda.

Ama Ermelinda doesn’t remember how old she is. But she knows she lost her husband five years ago, and she’s been collecting river water all by herself ever since.

“I am good at collecting water, but I am only collecting water once in a day because I feel tired after one time [..] The water source is far so I need to stop four or five times on the way.”

Ama Ermelinda

Ama Ermalinda lives in the mountains. She collects water from the river in the valley. She climbs uphill, on a narrow and slippery path, through the dust, carrying four jerry cans filled with water – two in a woven bag with the strap strung from her head.

This Christmas, will you help bring clean water close to home for people like Ama Ermalinda?

Your gift could help to install a gravity flow system to pipe water to a remote community like hers.

WaterAid is determined to bring clean water to everyone, everywhere, but we can’t do it without you. Please give today.

About WaterAid

WaterAid has teams in 29 countries across the world, working with our partners to change millions of lives every year by improving access to clean water, toilets and hygiene.

Since 1981, we’ve reached over 27 million people with clean water. But we can’t stop there.

In the last 41 years, we’ve gone from strength to strength to become one of the most respected organisations dealing solely with water, sanitation and hygiene issues.

What does WaterAid do?

While installing taps and toilets is essential to our work, we do so much more. We convince governments to change laws, link policy makers with people on the ground, pool knowledge and resources and rally support from people and organisations around the world, making lasting change happen on a massive scale.
