As India faces another deadly wave of COVID-19, we're urgently scaling up work to bring clean water, toilets and hygiene facilities to those who need it the most.
With cases rising every day, many people are fleeing cities to seek safety in rural areas, causing the virus to spread even further. This threatens to overburden already stretched local health centres, with weak infrastructures, to manage such a crisis.
Your support is vital in helping protect the millions of lives already at stake.
Through your donation, you'll help to:
- Support emergency work to rapidly repair existing infrastructure and install new temporary facilities, such as water storage units, handwashing stations and additional mobile toilets in 50 healthcare centres
- Provide emergency water supplies to 12,000 people living in places expected to experience water shortages as the dry season approaches
- Provide safety and hygiene support to 2,000 sanitation workers who are working on the frontline to help slow the spread of COVID-19
As the situation changes by the day, your support could also help us to respond to the escalating crisis across India, making an even bigger impact.
Will you donate today to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in India?
WaterAid has teams in 28 countries across the world, working with our partners to transform millions of lives every year by improving access to clean water, toilets and hygiene.
Since 1981, we’ve reached over 27 million people with clean water. But we can’t stop there.
In the last 39 years, we’ve gone from strength to strength to become one of the most respected organisations dealing solely with water, sanitation and hygiene issues.
What does WaterAid do?
While installing taps and toilets is essential to our work, we do so much more. We convince governments to change laws, link policy makers with people on the ground, pool knowledge and resources and rally support from people and organisations around the world, making lasting change happen on a massive scale.
