Based at Port Moresby Office (with regular travel)

WaterAid is looking for a Country Director in Papua New Guinea to provide leadership and management of its PNG Country Program, leading its policy advocacy with national government and other development stakeholders, and supporting the implementation of programs focused at strengthening WASH sector systems and equitable and sustainable WASH services. This position involves championing implementation of its PNG Country Strategy (2017-2020), leading development of its next strategy, and securing people’s rights with regards to access to safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation. This position will be based in Port Moresby but may involve domestic and international travel.

Key Accountabilities:

Reporting to the International Director for Policy and Programs based in Australia the CD will support the WaterAid PNG team and partners to develop and implement the Country Strategy, oversee program development, policy and influencing, people and organisational development and financial management.  

Essential Requirements:

The Country Director will need to be fully committed to WaterAid’s vision, mission and values and a way of working that demonstrates this, with the ability to communicate this to others.
