Position Summary

The Corporate Marketing Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and supporting a positive and active corporate fundraising and engagement program through marketing campaigns and events to provide support to WaterAid Australia. This position is responsible for planning, implementing and coordinating all aspects of WaterAid’s corporate campaigns and events including our signature annual events Walk for Water, Winnovators staff development program and the OzWater trade stand and breakfast. The role is also the key focal point working with WaterAid State Committees and event management company to organise our Gala Dinners and other fundraising events such as Golf Days etc.. in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia.

Key Performance Areas/Accountabilities

The Corporate Marketing Coordinator reports to the Head of Strategic Partnerships and Philanthropy and is a member of and collaborates closely with the broader fundraising and communications team. The responsibilities include:

  • Manage logistics and event requirements for corporate partners involved in campaigns and events
  • Manage and implement WaterAid’s annual online corporate fundraising campaign – Walk for Water, including developing the acquisition strategy in collaboration with the Corporate team, managing registration and participation processes, developing and implementing a communications strategy, coordinating all associated merchandise and promotional materials.
  • Manage the Australian Winnovators program, our annual corporate staff development and fundraising program in which teams compete globally to solve a water and sanitation technical challenge and raise money for the program.
  • Coordinate and/or act as liaison on a range of corporate events including annual Gala Dinners and Golf Days.
  • Manage WaterAid’s presence at the OzWater industry event annually, including corporate stand, side events such as breakfasts and coordinating speaking spots.
  • Respond in a timely manner to requests from corporates with information or guidance on how to raise money for WaterAid, including third party events and other initiatives.
  • Contribute to annual budget planning and tracking.
  • Prepare and report on financial & non-financial indicators for corporate partners’ participation in fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Explore and support new corporate fundraising opportunities as appropriate.
  • Travel, weekend and out of hours commitments will be required within this role.

 

Qualification, Skills & Attributes (Key Capabilities/Selection Criteria)

The candidate will ideally have:

  • Experience running peer to peer fundraising campaigns and events
  • Experience coordinating catered events on a large and small scale
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Creative flair, experience and expertise in designing and running fundraising campaigns and events
  • Experience coordinating sponsors and volunteers.

Essential

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the key strategies required to maximise income from a corporate event.
  • Marketing and communications experience, and knowledge of audience segmentation.
  • Budget management experience.
  • EDM and copy writing experience.
  • Experience working with a corporate audience.
  • Willingness to undertake a variety of tasks, both practical and strategic, to deliver fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Strong customer service background with excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills.

Education

  • Relevant Qualifications are highly desirable

Knowledge and skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work to a high standard with an eye for detail, working under own initiative to strict deadlines and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Personal qualities

  • Commitment to WaterAid’ values and standards of safety of children and protection from sexual exploitation and abuse in all our activities
  • Demonstrate an understanding of gender equality and women’s empowerment including ethnic diversity and cultural sensitivity

Experience

  • Experience in non-profit fundraising environment will be considered an asset.
