Expression of Interest - Chair of the Board of Directors
Right now, 785 million people in the world don’t have clean water close to home and 2 billion people don’t have a decent toilet of their own. A staggering two in five healthcare facilities globally do not have both soap and water available for doctors and nurses to wash their hands at points where care is provided. Together, with our partners and supporters around the world, we will change that. In the face of COVID 19 pandemic the critical role water, sanitation and hygiene play in our lives has never been more apparent.
WaterAid is an international not-for-profit organisation, determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation.
We are now seeking to appoint a new Chair of our Australian Board in 2021.
We are seeking a Chair who can:
- Champion the key values which underpin the governance and work of WaterAid Australia;
- Monitor the diversity of the Board, ensure that Board members are properly inducted and supported, and regularly review the performance of the Board and the contribution of individual Board members;
- Guide, stretch and challenge the Chief Executive and the organisation;
- Effectively represent WaterAid Australia within the global federation and work collaboratively with other members, the WaterAid International Board and Secretariat to achieve WaterAid’s mission.
