WaterAid’s vision is of a world where everyone has access to safe water and sanitation. Our mission is to transform lives by improving access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in the world’s poorest communities. We work through supporting local organisations and government authorities to design and demonstrate appropriate and sustainable WASH programs, and by influencing policy change to secure and protect the right of poor people to safe, affordable water and sanitation services.

As a member of the WaterAid federation, WaterAid Australia is responsible for managing country programs in Cambodia, Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Advisor to join the Policy and Programs team.  The MEL Advisor will support a range of new and existing water, sanitation and hygiene projects being implemented in South East Asia and the Pacific that take a systems strengthening and gender transformative approach.  It is expected the position will support how adaptive programming is applied across key projects through strengthening core design and monitoring practices.

The role is a full-time two-year position, with the possibility of extension.

Highly collaborative working style and an ability to work effectively across diverse cultures, engaging a range of organisations and individuals at all levels in an empowering way.  To excel in this role, you will also have:

Experience of strengthening or developing monitoring, evaluation and learning systems with international development organisations (preferably that apply adaptive programming principles)

Experience in the WASH, gender or health sector supporting development programming
