What is this training about?

The Hand Hygiene for All (HH4A) initiative aims to move the world towards this goal: supporting the most vulnerable communities with the means to protect their health and environment. It brings together international partners, national governments, public and private sectors, and civil society to ensure affordable products and services are available, especially in disadvantaged areas, and to enable a culture of hygiene. The Government of Bangladesh aims to universal coverage of hand hygiene behavior, practices with the provision appropriate hand hygiene solutions at communities, schools, health care facilities and other public places which have proven to protect human health.

Youth play a vital role and can be a fundamental force to curb the pandemic we are currently experiencing. With adequate training and capacity building, youths bring transformative change towards making hand hygiene a reality for all - a powerful collective that can be a long-term sustainable solution to avert transmission. Young volunteers who are active in community can drive awareness and instill handwashing critical knowledge to their peers, community members, leaders and in education institutions and raise a voice for wider change.

With this goal, UNICEF and WaterAid, with collaboration of Local Government Division and DPHE, has set out on a journey to equip youths to understand the importance of hand hygiene and enable them to learn or level-up their abilities in: campaign design and implementation, communication, gender sensitivity and inclusion, project coordination, leadership and networking, and life skills.

This is a call for change-makers who are willing to bring about positive change in Bangladesh and make 'Hygiene' a mandate for all. If you believe you are a change-maker, apply to the certificate training programme!
