The sanitation safety plan (SSP) for Sakhipur Municipality has been developed in line with sanitation safety planning manual of World Health Organisation (WHO, 2015) to identify key risks and mitigation measures. Hazards and related hazardous events were identified for each step of the sanitation value chain, as well as exposure groups, and transmission routes. Risks related to each step of the sanitation value chain were assessed using a semi-quantitative approach.
