ICT Division, Peoples' Republic of Bangladesh awards WaterAid in special category of software solutions

We are excited to share that WaterAid has been awarded in the special category of software solutions in the grand finale of ACT COVID-19 season 1 by the ICT Division of the Peoples' Republic of Bangladesh!

The announcement was made today by the Hon’ble Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology Division of Bangladesh, Mr Zunaid Ahmed Palak, after a month-long competition that the Government launched as a ‘Call for Nation’ – an initiative showcasing innovation linking information and communication technology (ICT).

WaterAid has secured the winning position with an innovative and timely app ‘Connecting the Unconnected Slum Dwellers’ - a digital solution platform which will use a trusted source of volunteers in order to collect data from slum dwellers for surveillance of their health condition during this pandemic. The app will aid in early detection of the virus, and link potential cases to government mechanisms to further avail testing and other relevant services on time.
