LGHL Launching

The Local Government (LG) Division on 1st July, has launched the Local Government Help Line (LGHL) - an innovation in public services to achieve the digital Bangladesh vision of 2021-41!

WaterAid is proud to be associated with this new initiative, contributing towards financing the “INTRODUCING LOCAL GOVERNMENT HELP LINE (LGHL) IN BANGLADESH”- a project that will enhance local governance by providing low-cost operating platform of a call center to ensure that the LGIs and citizens are able to access timely, accurate, relevant and updated information; target audience for this being citizens of Bangladesh, Union Parishad, Pourashava and other LGI functionaries.

This will be a unique opportunity for WaterAid in enabling citizens of the country communicate directly with the government for essential information, further contributing towards good governance and services. It will not only strengthen the organisation’s collaboration with the government but also help to bring civil society closer to the government - an outcome WaterAid aims to achieve through its interventions following a right based approach.
