WaterAid as part of the Youth Conference 2018!

Organised by the Citizen’s Platform for SDGs, this year’s conference was all about young people’s aspirations around Agenda 2030 and WaterAid was right in the midst of it all leading a session and manning an exhibition stall!

Throughout the day, great conversations were held with youth from all walks of life about how they saw water, sanitation and hygiene, and the palpable sense of responsibility they felt towards their communities and the environment. They shared stories of their personal struggles, their concern for the future, but most inspiringly, their desire to take action for a Bangladesh with clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene for all. Over a hundred signatures were also collected from young people interested in learning more about WaterAid’s work on Goal 6!

Also at the Conference, our Country Director Khairul Islam chaired the Health, Nutrition and Sanitation session, which saw a lot of interesting discussion around the cross-cutting issue of menstrual hygiene management.
