Synthesis Report: Climate resilient drinking water infrastructure

This report comprises a comprehensive drinking water supply and demand analysis of the communities (hereinafter called as ‘the study’) of 39 Unions 1 under 5 selected Upazilas 2 of Khulna and Satkhira districts of Bangladesh and proposes climate-resilient technology solutions to provide a sustainable water supply for the communities. By utilizing Participatory Rapid Appraisal approach and analyzing secondary data, the study shows there is a gap in drinking water coverage which accounts for 82.4% in Assassuni, 92.94% in Paikgacha, 65.8% in Shaymnagar, 81.22% in Dacope upazila, 83% in Koyra upazila. The study findings has provided relevant information for the Green Climate Fund (GCF) project proposal, proposed by the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) and the development of the proposal is supported by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
