What is this training about?

Climate change is a complex issue of growing importance throughout the world and in Bangladesh. Although it is a topic of global attention, however its interrelationship to WASH is not often acknowledged or well understood by the people. The water climate campaign (WCC), that has been launched by WaterAid aims to build capacity on this sector by prioritizing clean water as form of national climate adaptation planning , deliver climate resilient WASH services for all and increase knowledge in this sector. WaterAid recognizes youth as the changemakers for the future. The training aims to mobilize the youth who we see as the torch bearer of this crucial topic to be the ambassadors of change.

What will be the outcome from this training?

Training Aims:

  • Youth to play a vital role in  linkages on the WASH and the climate sector. 

  • Youth to lead community level campaign and bring changes that benefits people and planet.

In that light, this program will consist of two WASH and climate training which will be taken by WaterAid, three climate change training taken by ICCCAD, and two leadership training which will be taken by Mind Mapper Bangladesh. The training will be taken in a talk-series format via zoom. The training will end, by asking the youth to take pledges to spread the knowledge from the training they will receive to create mass awareness.

Who will be the trainers?

Criteria to be shortlisted as the candidate:

  • Youth interested or with environmental, social science, engineering background

  • Interested in Water, Sanitation, Hygiene & Climate Change

  • Interested in being leaders in their local communities

  • Age 18-35 years old
