Shad K

Shad is a Juno-winning Canadian alternative hip hop recording artist and broadcaster. In addition to three of his records being nominated on the Short List of the prestigious Polaris Music Prize, his album TSOL won the 2011 Rap Recording of the Year at the Juno Awards. Since then, Shad has elevated his practice by emerging as a vital broadcaster. After hosting CBC Radio’s q, he went on to host the Hip-Hop Evolution docuseries, whose 2016 season on HBO Canada earned both a Peabody Award and an International Emmy Award.

Adam van Koeverden

Four-time Olympic medalist Adam van Koeverden is Canada’s most decorated Olympic paddler and two-time national flag bearer. He’s earned one Olympic gold medal, two silver and one bronze in kayak, and is a two-time World Champion, 22-time World Cup Champion and 73-time Canadian Champion.

Adam is personally committed to WaterAid Canada’s work in improving access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene for millions people around the world. He has been travelling with WaterAid to country programs in an effort to raise awareness about access to clean water and sanitation as a human rights issue. While visiting Madagascar, Adam traveled to remote communities in the Belavabary Region where he collected water with women from the community. He also led a team of adventurous Canadians to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in an effort to raise funds and awareness of WaterAid’s mission.

In addition to his work with WaterAid, Adam is committed to championing campaigns with numerous Canadian organizations. He has spoken at countless schools on the importance of healthy and active living, community involvement, and his experiences as a Canadian Olympian.

Natalie Spooner

A member of the Canadian National women’s ice hockey team program since 2007, Natalie Spooner is the first hockey player to compete for the National Women’s Team, the National Women’s Under-22 Team and the National Women’s Under-18 Team. She competed in her first Olympic Games at Sochi 2014 where she scored the first two goals in Canada’s 3-1 semifinal victory over Switzerland en route to the gold medal. She was also a member of Canada’s silver medal-winning squad at PyeongChang 2018. Along with her Olympic teammate Meaghan Mikkelson, the pair were among the competing teams in the second season of The Amazing Race Canada.

Chef Susur Lee

Susur Lee is an internationally-acclaimed Canadian celebrity chef based out of Toronto. He is a celebrated pioneer of modern Chinese cuisine and fusion cooking. He has received the prestigious CAA Five Diamond Award in Cannes and was named one of the ‘ten chefs of the millennium’ by Food & Wine magazine. Chef Lee has three restaurants in Toronto, one in New York, and is a judge on Chopped and Top Chef.
