Bid Invitation for the Purchase and Supply of Pipes, Fittings, Construction Materials, and Plumbing Tools (Ref: WAE/GU/OB/25/0001)

 

WaterAid is a global federation working to improve people’s access to clean water, improved sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). As a key WASH actor, it has made a significant contribution in transforming the lives of poor and marginalised people. In Ethiopia, it has been engaged in the WASH sector since 1991 with a vision of everyone everywhere has access to WASH. It partners with communities, the Government, Civil Society Organisations, the private sector, media, and academia on WASH service delivery, capacity strengthening, evidence building, and influencing policies and strategies on sustainable WASH services and behaviour change.

To further advance its commitment WaterAid Ethiopia hereby invites eligible bidders to submit their bids for:

Deliveries are to Woreda Water Office located in Chafe Donsa Town, Gumbichu Woreda.

Location and accessibility details of Gumbichu Woreda are as follows: It is situated in the East Shewa Zone Oromia region, approximately 75 km from Addis Ababa. Of this distance, 45 km is on an asphalt road from Addis Ababa to Bishoftu, while the remaining 30 km northeast of Bishoftu is a gravel road leading to Chafe Donsa Town, and there is also a 20 km gravel road to Finchawa Kebele.

  1. The tender document will be sent to bidders who register their Email address at the register placed at WaterAid reception from January 13 to 24, 2025, during working hours (08:30 AM – 12:30 PM and 01:30 PM – 05:00 PM). 

  2. Bidders can also visit our website http://www.wateraid.org/et to access the invitation and the bid document. 

  3. Bidder can participate for all lots or for each lot separately. Partial bidding is allowed.

  4. Bids must be accompanied by renewed business licenses and registration, and TIN Registration Certificate, and these must be submitted together with the technical proposal. 

  5. Bidders should submit their offers in sealed envelopes to WAE’s office on or before the bid opening date.

  6. Offers must be accompanied by a bid bond amounting to two (2%) of the total quoted price in the form of a bank guarantee or CPO valid at least for three months from the date of bid opening. The bid security bank guarantee or CPO must be attached to the original financial document. 

  7. Bidders should submit their offers in sealed envelopes to WAE’s office on or before January 27, 2024, by 1:30 PM  

  8. Bidders must present the transportation cost separately from the price of the items. 

  9. Bids must be presented in envelopes identified by the bidder’s name, address, legal stamp, and the lot number and reference number Ref: WAE/GU/OB/25/0001 on the cover.

  10. Bidders must submit the technical and financial proposal documents separately. The technical and financial proposals should have one original and one copy for each, clearly marked "ORIGINAL" and "COPY" on the cover. Each envelope shall be stamped and sealed. In the event of any discrepancy between them, the original will prevail. 

  11. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders or representatives who prefer to attend at our office on January 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM.

  12. WaterAid Ethiopia reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. Late bids shall also be rejected.
