The COVID-19 pandemic has changed everything we knew of everything. While millions of people who are fortunate have adjusted to the 'new normal’ and continue to lead a safe life in the comfort of their homes, there are millions of others for whom COVID-19 and the lockdowns have not been merciful. In fact, it wasn’t too great before COVID-19 either. But it has become tougher now.

How? Think of this. Good hygiene is essential for good health, but can you have it without access to clean water.

We take it for granted, right? But for millions of people with no direct access to water, it’s a daily struggle. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of access to clean water in keeping diseases at bay. Water scarcity has always been a problem in India and now with this pandemic, this problem is going to be greatly amplified making the already difficult issue of the pandemic even harder to tackle. WaterAid India has been standing strong with these people to help them lead dignified life. We may have come a long way, but there are still miles to go.
