In India 771 million people don’t have clean water access close to their living and 29% of schools don’t have access to clean drinking water which results in unsafe drinking water, lack of sanitation and hand hygiene.

Safe WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) is not only essential to health, but contributes to livelihood, school attendance and dignity and helps to create resilient communities living in healthy and clean environment.

WaterAid is a global nonprofit organization, which has been working for more than 3 decades in India in 12 states to improve access to clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene for everyone and everywhere by empowering people to assert their rights to WASH by strengthening outreach of WASH services in schools, communities, institutions by promoting water conservation, improving sanitation services and developing hygiene system.
