Jal Champion is a nation-wide movement empowering citizens to lead the charge in water conservation. Our goal is to create lasting impact by engaging community leaders at the grassroots level, inspiring action, and shaping a sustainable future for our water resources.
Phase 1: Celebrating a Remarkable Journey
Phase 1 of the Jal Champion Campaign, which concluded on 22nd March 2025, was a groundbreaking initiative that rallied over 10,000 dedicated water conservation champions from across the nation. This campaign demonstrated the undeniable strength of community engagement, as our champions reached out to schools, colleges, and local communities, sparking vital conversations around water conservation.
Key highlights of Phase 1 include:
- More than 10,000 Jal Champions volunteered their time and effort to drive awareness and action.
- The Top 50 performers received personal appreciation from Mr. Vikas Kataria, WaterAid India's Director of Resource Mobilisation & Communications.
- The Top 30 Jal Champions were honored with rewards and recognitions from WaterAid India, recognizing their exemplary contributions.

Phase 2: The Next Chapter
Beginning on 22nd April (World Earth Day) and running through 8th June (World Oceans Day), Phase 2 is our call to action for an even bigger impact in water conservation. This phase aims to onboard an additional 15,000 Jal Champions bringing up the total tally to 25,000. This cohort of Jal Champions will continue to empower communities and build effective conversations on water conservation.
We’re excited to announce that Phase 2 will also reward and recognise outstanding Jal Champions who go the extra mile in inspiring their peers and communities. These awards are our way of celebrating passion, dedication, innovation, and perseverance of our Jal Champions- helping us shape a sustainable future for our water resources.
