On 15th July 2019, the river Kamla, Balan and Kosi breached and flooded various regions of Madhubani, Bihar. An estimated 9615 families in 53 villages of Madhubani district were badly affected due to severe 10 days of continuous flooding. The situation still remains alarming due to the absence of safe water, sanitation and hygiene measures.

WaterAid India in association with Sakhi reached out to around 1000 most vulnerable household from 8 villages of 3 blocks Andharthari, Lakhnuar, Madehpur in Madhubani.
