Join Team WaterAid for the Tokyo Marathon 2026 Charity!

We are calling for runners to join us the Tokyo Marathon 2026 Charity, on Sunday 1 March 2026, and deliver clean water for everyone, everywhere.

Application Period: Tuesday 24 June 11:00AM (JST) - Wednesday 9 July 5:00PM (JST).

How to participate

There are two ways of participation. You can join the Tokyo Marathon 2026 Charity by making a donation and joining as a charity runner, or participating by donation only. Procedures and schedules differ depending on how you participate.

1. Join as a Charity Runner

A "Charity Runner" is a runner who makes a donation him/her/themself over a certain amount to the designated charity organization and participates in the Tokyo Marathon to spread the greatness of charity activities.

Participation procedure

1. Donation application
＜11:00 am JST, Tue., 24 June - 5:00pm JST, Wed., 9 July＞
Visit the application page on the Tokyo Marathon Foundation RUN with HEART website and select WaterAid Japan to proceed for application. Make sure to choose you wish to run as a charity runner when applying.

2. Charity runner selection
＜Tue. 15 July - Fri. 18 July＞
WaterAid selects runners and email from the Tokyo Marathon 2026 Charity Desk will be sent to those who are selected.

3. Donation payment and runner entry
＜Tue. 15 July - 5:00pm JST, Thu. 14 August＞
・Please make your donation according to the instructions in 2.
・Upon the confirmation of the donation, the Tokyo Marathon 2026 Charity Desk will send you an e-mail regarding runner entry. Please follow the instructions in the e-mail to complete the procedures for runner entry and payment of the entry fee.

4. Runner participation completed
You can check the status of your donation application in “My Charity”. If the donation status is “5. Runner Confirmed”, all procedures have been completed.

In addition to your donation, the Tokyo Marathon 2026 Event fee will be charged. For more details, please visit the Tokyo Marathon 2026 Official Website.
Criteria　
１）Donations per person is 100,000 yen or more
２）Previous WaterAid charity runners or supporter priority slots (max.10 slots)
３）Selected by higher donation amount --> If the donation application amount is the same, selected based on the contents of the "Thoughts on Charity & Messages."

Even if you are not willing to join as a Charity Runner and run the race, you can still join to support our work by making a donation.
