WaterAid pays tribute to Sir Fazle Hasan Abed

We at WaterAid are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of founder of BRAC Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, a legendary personality in Bangladesh's development sector and an embodiment of his country's strength, resilience and innovation. Sir Fazle's work on eliminating poverty has touched the lives of millions in Bangladesh and across the world.  
 
One of Sir Fazle's earliest pioneering interventions was to introduce oral rehydration on a mass scale, saving countless lives. Today, BRAC's critical work on water, sanitation and hygiene continues to improve people's health, education and livelihoods in Bangladesh and beyond. His contributions to our sector will live on in our journey to reach everyone, everywhere.
