Clean Green Punjab Index launched by CM Punjab
Local Government and Community Development (LG&CD) Department in collaboration with WaterAid Pakistan and UNICEF Pakistan has inaugurated Clean Green Pakistan Index in Punjab and Clean Green Punjab Campaign on December 24th, 2019.
The provincial government’s Clean Green Punjab Campaign focuses on the seven pillars that include safe drinking water, solid waste management, water waste management, total sanitation, tree plantation, beautification of cities and community participation to make the Punjab cleaner and greener.
While addressing the ceremony the Chief Minister said that healthy competition will be held related to the clean and green programme among 319 local government and such competition will be based on the pattern of the federal government by considering the performance against key indicators. He stressed that the district administration officers must be proactive in achieving the targets, so Punjab can lead the clean and green campaign.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Mr Usman Buzdar, Chief Minister Punjab, Mr Amin Aslam, Advisor to Prime Minister on Climate Change, Mr Raja Basharat, Minister Law and Mr Mian Mahmood ur Rasheed, Minister Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering along with several senior district administration officials who took oath to make Punjab clean and green. The ceremony was also attended by the development sector partners, academician and media fellows.
