Cleanliness walk in Qaudi-i-Azam University Islamabad

WaterAid Pakistan in collaboration with QAU organised a campus cleanliness walk attended by a large number of students, faculty members and WaterAid staff.

The cleanliness walk aims to sensitise young people to develop responsible attitudes and commitments towards health and hygiene, both at home and at the wider community level. Dr Muhammad Ali, Vice-Chancellor of QAU graced the occasion and appreciated the campus cleaning initiative.

Dr Muhammad Ali, Vice-Chancellor of Quaid-i-Azam University appreciated the WaterAid collaboration for Clean Green Campus Programme. He said the QAU administration is strongly committed toward such initiatives that are focused on health, hygiene and environmental awareness. He further mentioned that this initiative is going to be the part of QAU new year resolution.

Mr Nadeem Ahmad, Head of Policy and Advocacy, WaterAid explained the whole concept behind the Clean Green Campus Programme. He said that the Clean Green Campus Programme is the part of Clean Green Pakistan Movement. WaterAid is the technical partner of the campaign and designing a holistic programme for academic institutions to become the part of CGPM to make, health, hygiene and environmental awareness and action as an intrinsic part of the life and ethos of educational institutions. He further mentioned as today’s activity is the first step to develop and promote responsible behaviour and attitudes for our healthy environment.
