WaterAid's Christmas Get Together

For obvious reasons, the festive season is feeling very different this year. Nonetheless, we wanted to put on a memorable evening of good cheer and celebrate together, while physically apart.
And what’s more special than giving the gift of clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene during these difficult times?
It was a magical event featuring some of our favourite stars and a few surprises from the communities we work with.
Who joined us?
The event brought together the dulcet tones of fireside host Sheila Ferguson with Tobias Menzies, Sir Tony Robinson, Dougray Scott, Cerys Matthews all sharing festive readings, and Katie Melua, KT Tunstall and more sharing seasonal songs.
We give huge thanks to every single person who helped make this event a success.
With special thanks to players of People's Postcode Lottery for supporting this event.
Support our winter appeal
This winter, our Future on Tap appeal is shows the difference we can make when we help each other. In the words of Marima from Frat in Ethiopia, “When one has problems, we all help.” Together, we can make sure at Christmas, and every day of the year, Marima and thousands like her can rely on one thing – clean water.
What your donation could do:
- £10, the cost of a taxi ride, could help pipe water to a community.
- £40, the cost of a Christmas meal, could train someone to keep the taps running.
- £60, the cost of a new party outfit, could provide the foundations for a water point.
- £140, the cost of a big night out, could power a pump with a solar panel.
Until 4 February 2021, your donations to Future on Tap will be doubled by the UK government, up to £2 million, making double the difference in climate-vulnerable communities like Frat.
