Our partnership

In 2011, we formed an exclusive partnership with Belu, a pioneering social enterprise and leading ethical drinks business that produces bottled mineral water, filtered water systems, and refillable solutions for hospitality and the workplace.

Over a decade on, this unique commitment has seen the multi award-winning organisation invest over £5.8 million in our work, supporting more than 390,000 people around the world to transform their lives – and creating a ripple effect of positive change that will last for generations to come.

Driving social and environmental change

As well as creating positive social impact through this partnership, Belu is committed to sustainability: their range includes lightweight glass bottles, recycled plastic bottles and filtration machines for businesses looking to reduce their environmental impact and switch from single use to refillables. They have turned over 113.6 million old bottles into new ones and reduced their carbon intensity by 72% since 2010.

In recognition of this, and of their partnership with us, Belu has received three Royal Awards for Enterprise: the King’s Award for Sustainable Development in 2024, the Queen’s Award for Innovation in 2019 and the Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development in 2017.

It is a privilege for Belu to partner with WaterAid to bring about change for so many communities around the world. We are deeply committed to our partnership; investing in equitable access to clean water and solutions to tackle the climate crisis is an investment into a sustainable future for all.
