Our climate is changing at an alarming rate and it’s making it even harder for people living in some of the lowest-income countries in the world to get clean water. Natural resources like rivers are running dry and more frequent flooding is polluting fragile water sources.
People should have a reliable supply of water that keeps running, whatever the weather. With your support, you can help make a difference.
Eveline from Burkina Faso used to collect dirty water from a partially dried riverbed. Using the water often made her family ill, but since WaterAid installed a borehole in Eveline's district, things have changed: "I noticed that since then the cases of stomach aches, diarrhoea and vomiting have significantly reduced."
With clean water, people can stay disease free, go to school, earn a living and be better prepared for whatever the future brings.
785 million people in the world – one in ten – do not have clean water close to home.
We'll keep working until everyone, everywhere has clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene. But we can’t do it without you.
Will you help transform lives today?
WaterAid has teams in 28 countries across the world, working with our partners to transform millions of lives every year by improving access to clean water, toilets and hygiene.
Since 1981, we’ve reached over 27 million people with clean water. But we can’t stop there.
In the last 40 years, we’ve gone from strength to strength to become one of the most respected organisations dealing solely with water, sanitation and hygiene issues.
What do WaterAid do?
While installing taps and toilets is essential to our work, we do so much more. We convince governments to change laws, link policy makers with people on the ground, pool knowledge and resources and rally support from people and organisations around the world, making lasting change happen on a massive scale.
Why monthly donations have a bigger impact
Regular gifts by direct debit give us a predictable income so WaterAid can commit to reaching more people around the world. Plus, direct debits mean we pay less in processing fees than for credit card gifts.
Our fundraising promise to you
We’ll use your donations in the best way possible. In every £1 we spent, 76p went on delivering services and making change happen and 24p went on fundraising and governance*
