When a community gets clean water for the first time, it’s the start of something truly life-changing.

Right now, some of the world’s poorest and most marginalised people don’t have clean water to drink, decent toilets or good hygiene. Without these basics, overcoming poverty is just a dream.

But when you help us to dig a well or install a tap stand in a community, you're changing the lives of children like Yenus from Frat in Ethiopia for the better. They can dream again.

Yenus is among the 785 million people worldwide who don’t have clean water and our changing climate is making their lives harder. Water sources are running dry, floods are polluting the water and unpredictable weather is threatening farming crops.

This winter, you can help bring clean water to Frat and climate-vulnerable communities around the world. With funding from the UK government, we will reach even more people with clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene.

Until 4 February 2021, the UK government will match your donations to the Future on Tap appeal, up to £2 million, making double the impact.

About WaterAid

WaterAid has teams in 28 countries across the world, working with our partners to transform millions of lives every year by improving access to clean water, toilets and hygiene.

Since 1981, we’ve reached over 27 million people with clean water. But we can’t stop there.

In the last 37 years, we’ve gone from strength to strength to become one of the most respected organisations dealing solely with water, sanitation and hygiene issues.

What do WaterAid do?

While installing taps and toilets is essential to our work, we do so much more. We convince governments to change laws, link policy makers with people on the ground, pool knowledge and resources and rally support from people and organisations around the world, making lasting change happen on a massive scale.

Why regular donations matter

Regular gifts by direct debit give us a predictable income so we can commit to helping more people. Plus direct debits mean we pay less in processing fees than for credit card gifts.

Our fundraising promise to you

We’ll use your donations in the best way possible. For every £1 you give, 74p is spent enabling people to transform their lives with clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene and 26p is spent on fundraising*
