In uncertain times, people need clean water they can rely on, today and every day.

Smart and bright-eyed, Yenus from Frat in Ethiopia wants to be a policeman when he’s older to help others. His father Ahmed says Yenus is “co-operative not only for me but also for the community.” It only seems fitting that Yenus’ dad calls him ‘habibi’, meaning sweet and lovely.

Yenus is among the 785 million people worldwide who don’t have clean water and our changing climate is making their lives harder. Water sources are running dry, floods are polluting the water and unpredictable weather is threatening farming crops.

Since 1981, we’ve reached over 27 million people with clean water. But we can’t stop there.

In the last 39 years, we’ve gone from strength to strength to become one of the most respected organisations dealing solely with water, sanitation and hygiene issues.

While installing taps and toilets is essential to our work, we do so much more. We convince governments to change laws, link policy makers with people on the ground, pool knowledge and resources and rally support from people and organisations around the world, making lasting change happen on a massive scale.

Regular gifts by direct debit give us a predictable income so we can commit to helping more people. Plus direct debits mean we pay less in processing fees than for credit card gifts.

We’ll use your donations in the best way possible. In every £1 we spent, 76p went on delivering services and making change happen and 24p went on fundraising and governance*
