Event information

Come together with your family and friends on 8 December for WaterAid’s Christmas Get Together as we celebrate traditions from all around the world with some very special guests.
Christmas branding

Christmas is a time for traditions - big and small. From presents, pantos and pudding to turkey, trees and tinsel. These things, year after year, are what make the festive season so special. And they all have one thing in common. They are better experienced together.

While many of our Christmas traditions will look a little different this year, we won’t let social distancing stop us celebrating with each other.

On Tuesday 8 December, you are invited to a Christmas Get Together from your home! Starting at 6.30pm, join our online event hosted by singer-songwriter Sheila Ferguson, and special performances by KT Tunstall, Katie Melua, The Crown actor Tobias Menzies as well as other special guests (see below!), as we share Christmas traditions from around the world. It’s sure to be an unforgettable evening, filled with storytelling and your favourite festive songs.

And the best bit is you won’t even need to get off the sofa (except to refill your glass and grab another mince pie).

If you donate now, the UK government will double your donation, so you’ll make twice the impact.

Matching your donations

This winter, our Future on Tap appeal is showing the difference we can make when we help each other. In the words of Marima from Frat in Ethiopia, “When one has problems, we all help.” Together, we can make sure at Christmas, and every day of the year, Marima and thousands like her can rely on one thing – clean water.

What your donation could do:

  • £10, the cost of a taxi ride, could help pipe water to a community.
  • £40, the cost of a Christmas meal, could train someone to keep the taps running.
  • £60, the cost of a new party outfit, could provide the foundations for a water point.
  • £140, the cost of a big night out, could power a pump with a solar panel.

Until 4 February 2021, your donations to Future on Tap will be doubled by the UK government, up to £2 million, making double the difference in climate-vulnerable communities like Frat.

Whatever you can give, you’ll be helping people get the clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene they need to change their own lives, forever. What a perfect Christmas gift that is.

We can’t wait to share this #ChristmasGetTogether with you.
