Event information

Enjoy the beautiful sights of Kew Gardens without the crowds in this flat and gentle 10k race. This is one of the only opportunities to run for WaterAid in a physical event this year, so make sure to register before places go!

Starting at the Orangery, the 10k route will take you past the iconic Palm House, Pagoda and along the River Thames. The gardens will be closed to the public, so the race will follow all social distancing measures and will be fully marshalled.

Once you've finished the race you and your loved ones are welcome to stay and enjoy the gardens for the rest of the day, so this is a fantastic opportunity for a day out in one of London's most well known parks.

Training resources

Whether this is your first ever race or you're a seasoned 10k runner, we have plenty of helpful resources and training tips to help you gear up for the event!

FAQs

I have my own place in this event, how can I join Team WaterAid?

Congrats on securing your own place – we'd love to have you on board!

To join Team WaterAid you can either pop us an email at [email protected] to let us know you’d like to join our team, or you can set up an online fundraising page on JustGiving. They'll tell us you’re fundraising for WaterAid and we’ll get in touch to say thank you and send you a fundraising pack.

I'm running for WaterAid, how do I get a WaterAid top to wear on the day?

If you’ve registered for a charity place or got your own place in the Kew Gardens 10k we will try to get your WaterAid running top to you before the race.

What training advice and support do you provide?

We've teamed up with leading sport and training coaches RunningWithUs to provide expert training plans, tips and advice.

We have bespoke training plans, put together by RunningWithUs, and you'll get direct access to the expertise of our professional coaches. Whether you’re brand new to running or a seasoned cyclist, we have a training plan to help you. If you have any specific training questions, you can contact RunningWithUs directly by emailing [email protected]

How much do I need to fundraise?

If you get a place on the WaterAid team we ask that you commit to raising £225. It might sound like a lot, but we'll be on hand with loads of tips and support to help you reach it - you'll get there in no time!

If you have your own place and decide to run for WaterAid, there's no minimum sponsorship amount.

I have an injury and can no longer take part in the race. What should I do?

We're really sorry to hear that – please contact our events team at [email protected] to let us know you won’t be taking part.

I'm stuck for fundraising ideas, can you help?

You’ve come to the right place! Check out our advice on how to plan your own fundraising, as well as our ideas for fundraising at home.

Once you’ve registered for an event, we’ll also send you a fundraising guide as part of your welcome pack. This has lots of great fundraising tips to get you off to a flying start.

How do I pay in my fundraising?

If you've raised money on JustGiving or VirginMoneyGiving, your job is done! All the online donations made to your fundraising page are automatically transferred over to WaterAid and allocated to your total.

If you've raised money offline, the easiest way to pay it in is using our online paying in form.

Or see the other ways you can pay in.
