Event information

Take part in RideLondon-Surrey 100, the capital’s biggest cycling event, with over 25,000 cyclists all taking on this celebrated 100 mile route through city and countryside.

Please note that RideLondon-Surrey 2020 has been cancelled. We will update the website with information on how you can get involved in the 2021 event for WaterAid in due course.

You can also still celebrate cycling on the weekend of 15 and 16 August, by joining My RideLondon - the virtual version of the world's best festival of cycling!

A huge thank you to everyone that rode for WaterAid in RideLondon 2019! Here's a taster of what you achieved:

Starting at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, riders enjoy an exclusive traffic free route out to Surrey’s beautiful countryside, take on the famous Box Hill and Leith Hill, before heading back into London to finish on The Mall.

Join us and together we'll change people's lives for good through clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene.

How we'll help

To help support all our riders in the lead up to race day we’ve teamed up with the company Running with Us to provide you with a special training package.

As a member of our team you’ll receive:

  • A bespoke training plan – suitable for your level of experience
  • Email helpline – ask a coach training, race, nutrition or injury questions
  • Twitter and Facebook ask-the-coach services and webinar sessions.

That's not all. We'll also hook you up with:

  • A personalised WaterAid cycling jersey
  • A fundraising pack to help you meet your targets
  • Fundraising and event resources like balloons, collecting tins and banners
  • Regular newsletters and emails to keep you updated
  • Support and advice from a dedicated member of the WaterAid events team.

Above all, we love hearing from you! If you have a question or just want to chat about your training, get in touch.

I have my own place in this event, how can I join Team WaterAid?

Congrats on securing your own place for RideLondon100 – we'd love to have you on board.

To join our team, just set up a fundraising page online with either JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving - the easiest way to collect sponsorship.

I’m taking part in this event for WaterAid, how can I get a WaterAid cycling top to wear on the day?

If you’ve registered for a charity place or got your own place in any of our events, you'll receive your very own WaterAid cycling jersey a few weeks before the race.

If you're taking on a different event for WaterAid and would like us to send you a vest or jersey, please contact us at [email protected].

Can I apply for a WaterAid charity place if I have entered the ballot?

Absolutely! If you have already been successful in the ballot, we’ll refund your registration fee as long as use your ballot place to ride for WaterAid.

How much do I need to fundraise?

If you get a place on the WaterAid team we ask that you commit to raising £395. It might sound like a lot, but we'll be on hand with loads of tips and support to help you reach it - you'll get there in no time!

If you have your own place and decide to run for WaterAid, there's no minimum sponsorship amount.

What training advice and support do you provide?

We've teamed up with leading sport and training coaches RunningWithUs to provide expert training plans, tips and advice.

We have bespoke training plans, put together by RunningWithUs, and you'll get direct access to the expertise of our professional coaches. Whether you’re brand new to cycling a seasoned cyclist, we have a training plan to help you. If you have any specific training questions, you can contact RunningWithUs directly by emailing [email protected]

I have an injury and now I can't take part in the event I signed up for. What should I do?

We're really sorry to hear that – please contact our events team at [email protected] to let us know you won’t be taking part.

I’m stuck for fundraising ideas. Can you help?

You’ve come to the right place! Check out some great fundraising ideas and inspirational stories.

Once you’ve registered for an event, we’ll also send you a fundraising guide as part of your welcome pack. This has lots of great fundraising tips to get you off to a flying start.

How do I pay in my fundraising?

If you've raised money on JustGiving or VirginMoneyGiving, your job is done! All the online donations made to your fundraising page are automatically transferred over to WaterAid and allocated to your total.
