Sing for Water London
Sing for Water was initiated by Helen Chadwick and the Thames Festival Trust to raise money for WaterAid. Sing for Water events are community-based concerts, where singers and choirs learn music and songs separately and then come together for one big performance. Each singer commits to raising a certain amount of money as part of the event, and all the funds currently go towards our vital projects in Rwanda, reaching some of the world’s poorest communities with safe water, taps and toilets. To date, Sing for Water events have raised over £1 million for WaterAid's work.
Co-founder Helen says:
"When Sing for Water first started, our dream was to raise £1,000. Over the last 15 years, you’ve turned that into over £1 million for projects in Burkina Faso, Malawi, Ghana, India, Timor-Leste, Ethiopia and Rwanda. It’s wonderful that so many choirs, festivals and individuals are now involved with Sing for Water"
