Ultra Challenge charity walks
Are you a regular walker and new to endurance events? Perhaps a seasoned trekker looking for testing adventures? Or even a marathon runner wanting to 'up' your distance? Whether it's along magnificent coastal scenery, or in stunning open countryside, there’s an Ultra Challenge for you.
Each Ultra Challenge has 3 distance options (a quarter, half or full distance), which you can choose to walk, run or jug. You choose the route, distance and pace - we'll fund your place.*
*Provided you raise a minimum required amount for WaterAid.
How it works
There are nine route options across a range of dates from May through to end of September, which you can see below. Each route has a choice of three distances, but will still vary in difficulty depending on the terrain and levels of incline.
Every route has a choice of distances - a full 100km, a half distance or quarter distance. You can choose to complete the 100km route over two days, or if you're keen for an extra challenge, you can attempt it as a continuous day.
You can choose one of two ways to pay and fundraise for the event...
1) Charity sponsorship
Pay a small registration fee and do lots of fundraising for WaterAid. We'll then cover the cost of your place in the event.
- Full challenge - £15 reg fee + £595 in fundraising
- Half challenge - £10 reg fee + £395 in fundraising
- Quarter challenge - £5 reg fee + £245 in fundraising
2) Mixed funding
You pay a higher contribution to the cost of your place and fundraise to a more achievable target.
- Full challenge - £99 reg fee + £299 in fundraising
- Half challenge - £64.50 reg fee + £245 in fundraising
- Quarter challenge - £39.30 reg fee + £199 in fundraising
Fundraise for us in whatever way you wish, ideally through a JustGiving page. We have loads of ideas on ways to fundraise you can use, too.
50% of the total minimum fundraising pledge must be submitted to your charity by six weeks prior to the challenge, (or four weeks prior to the challenge if you registered after this six week mark), to secure your place on the challenge.
