Charity places are now full, but you can still run to #FinishThirst if you have secured your own place through the ballot.
When you take part, you’ll be helping people to live healthy lives with clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene. Together we can change normal for good.

To help support all our runners in the lead up to race day we’ve teamed up with the company RunningWithUs to provide you with a special training package.
As a member of our team you’ll receive:
- A bespoke training plan – suitable for your level of experience
- Email helpline – ask a coach training, race, nutrition or injury questions
- Twitter and Facebook ask-the-coach services and webinar sessions.
That's not all. We'll also hook you up with:
- A personalised WaterAid running vest or technical t-shirt
- A fundraising pack to help you meet your targets
- Fundraising and event resources like balloons, collecting tins and banners
- Regular newsletters and emails to keep you updated
- The opportunity to wear our famous WaterAid tap and toilet costumes
- Support and advice from a dedicated member of the WaterAid events team.

Congrats on securing your own place through the London Marathon ballot – we'd love to have you on board.
To join our team, just complete the own place form and we’ll get in touch to say thank you and send you a fundraising pack.
The ballot results are announced in October. You will receive a magazine through the post or an e-magazine via email that will either say Congratulations or Commiserations.
We start allocating places in the summer and aim to let everyone know by the end of October if we can offer you a place. If we offer you a place, we will contact you by phone and you will be sent the registration form and asked to pay the £100 registration fee to confirm your place.
Absolutely – it will only increase your chances of getting on that start line. If we offer you a place and you then find out you were successful in the ballot, we’ll refund your registration fee as long as use your ballot place to run for WaterAid.
If you’ve registered for a charity place or got your own place in any of our events, you'll receive your very own WaterAid running vest a few weeks before the race.

We've teamed up with leading sport and training coaches RunningWithUs to provide expert training plans, tips and advice.

If you’ve bought a WaterAid charity place in an event, we'll ask you to reach a minimum fundraising target. This will cover the cost of the event place and administration fees that WaterAid have to pay, and help provide much needed support to some of the world’s poorest communities.
If you're concerned you won’t reach your fundraising target, please get in touch with us as soon as possible. We're on hand to help you out with tips and ideas that will help you reach your target and we may be able to extend your deadline, so that you have that little bit longer to fundraise.
If you've raised money on JustGiving or VirginMoneyGiving, your job is done! All the online donations made to your fundraising page are automatically transferred over to WaterAid and allocated to your total.
If you've raised money offline, you can send in your fundraising by making a bank transfer, sending us a cheque, or paying in your money over the phone.
