Get sponsored

Whether it's on a bike or your own two feet, a long-distance endurance challenge is a great way to raise lots of money for WaterAid by asking friends and family for sponsorship.

Pick from varying distances and terrains - whatever suits you. Lots of events you can also choose whether to walk, jog or run, so there's something for everyone! The important thing is to ask for sponsorship, so you'll be motivated to keep going and can raise lots of money to help reach everyone, everywhere with clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene.

What your fundraising can do

Bera, Toky and Samy’s primary school in Madagascar used to have no supply of clean water or any decent toilets. Teachers and pupils would have to endure a long walk to school and seven hours of classes without a drink of clean water. And when they needed the toilet, there was no choice but to go outside in the open, risking their health and their safety.

Now, with water fountains and a brand new block of toilets, everything has changed. Pupils have a safe place to go to the toilet and wash their hands, and clean water to drink. They can stay healthy, keep concentration in class and enjoy playing with their friends.

When you take on an event for WaterAid this is what you’re doing – creating a brighter, healthier and happier future for children around the world, with the gifts of clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene.
