Service clubs and organisations
Rotary Great Britain and Ireland have supported WaterAid since 1985, raising more than £3.6 million in that time.
Our current partnership with Rotary GBI is helping change the lives of children just like Iyasu (above) in the communities of Liben Gamo, Babich Town and Toke Kombolcha in the Oromia region, central Ethiopia.
Only one in four people in these towns have access to clean water. Fewer than than one in five have access to a toilet and just 7% of households have handwashing facilities – some of the lowest rates in the world.
With the help of Rotary GBI, we are hoping to reach 22,207 people with clean water, 8,201 with decent toilets and 5,602 people with hygiene education by the end of 2018. These essential services will make sure that, together, we can bring sustainable change for generations to come.
If your club would like to request a project proposal or make a pledge, please email Katrina at [email protected] or call 020 7793 4594.

Lions Clubs were particularly involved with our 'Big Dig' campaign in 2012, raising almost £30,000 (which was then doubled by the UK Government through UK Aid Match) to transform lives in some of the poorest communities in rural Malawi.
