University and RAG fundraising
Here in the UK, we probably take clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene for granted. But millions of people still don't have these vital services. We want to make them normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation – and we need your help!
There are so many ways to support us. Setting up a WaterAid society. Organising your own event on campus. Taking part in our Tough Sh!t challenge with your sports team. Fundraising with your university's RAG society. Just choose what suits you best. And speaking of suits, we have plenty of taps and toilet costumes you can wear!
What can I do?
Starting a WaterAid society on campus is both rewarding and good fun. It’s also a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and enhance your CV.
We currently have five societies at universities across the country:
If your university isn’t listed here, just email [email protected] to find out how to set up your own.
By volunteering as a WaterAid Student Ambassador, you’ll have the opportunity to learn important skills, meet like-minded people and gain valuable experience for life after university, all whilst helping to tackle the global water and sanitation crisis.
For your commitment, you’ll receive fantastic experience to boost your CV, a reference provided by WaterAid and one-to-one support from our team.
To find out more and apply, please email Katrina at [email protected]
If you’re part of your university RAG, why not nominate WaterAid as your charity of the year?
You could also organise a one-off event like a skydive or a Jailbreak – where you have 36 hours to travel as far from your university as possible without spending any of your own money!

We always have bucket collections happening, so get in touch and get fundraising!
We’ll provide tap and toilet costumes, wigs, buckets and loads of motivation. We can also help you plan your event and apply for a permit.

Being able to raise nearly £5,000 for this fantastic charity throughout the year was an amazing feeling."
Get some Good Sh!t
Good Sh!t is for people who know that doing good doesn't mean being boring. If you’re serious about making change happen, but don’t think that means taking yourself too seriously, this is the sh!t you’ve been waiting for.
