Internal Communications Volunteer

Position type: Flexible – ideally 2 or 3 days a week for 3 months

Background

This position is perfect for someone looking to develop skills and gain experience of internal communications within an international development environment environment. 

Are you passionate about helping some of the world’s poorest communities gain access to clean water and decent toilets? Would you like to gain valuable experience of working in an international charity? 

We are looking for someone with excellent written communication skills, experience of IT (particularly Office 365 applications - Word, PowerPoint, Publisher – and a SharePoint based intranet), and a real passion for the work of WaterAid. 

You will be volunteering with the Leadership and Engagement team, working closely with a variety of people across WaterAid in the UK and internationally to gain an understanding of internal communications and knowledge-sharing across the organisation. 

Potential tasks will depend on your specific areas of interest and developing skill set but could include:

  • Communicating with our staff in our country offices to gather and share stories in our global updates 
  • Building global relationships via our internal digital social media channels
  • Contributing ideas and supporting the communication and promotion of internal campaigns
