WaterAid is deeply concerned about the impact of the escalating situation in Myanmar on those who are most vulnerable. The current unrest following on from the deep impact of the Covid 19 crisis threatens the country’s progress on eradicating poverty and achieving the wider Sustainable Development Goals that are crucial for Myanmar’s future. We urge the international community to engage with Myanmar, supporting its civil society and work towards harmony and a restoration of peace.
