As the COVID-19 pandemic threatens our global community, work to bring clean water, decent sanitation and good hygiene to everyone, everywhere has never been more critical.

Our teams around the world are sharing the crucial hygiene messages we must all follow to keep each other safe from coronavirus, and working to provide lasting access to water, sanitation and hygiene essentials, so people can defend against and build resilience to COVID-19 and other contagious diseases.

Our global response to COVID-19

In 2004, WaterAid Australia became a member of our global federation, helping us make an even bigger impact around the world.

Today, the team coordinate and raise funds for our work in the Pacific and South East Asia, as well as supporting our work globally.

In Timor-Leste, they’ve been a driving force in getting the SaTo Pan – an affordable and efficient flush toilet – to isolated rural communities, transforming lives for good. In Papua New Guinea, they’ve harnessed the power of sport as a catalyst for change for girls and women, working with Netball PNG and the PNG Volleyball Federation. And in Cambodia, the team have been working with disability arts groups to challenge discrimination.

Behind all of this are their brilliant supporters, determined to make clean water, toilets and hygiene a normal part of daily life for everyone, everywhere within a generation.
