World Teacher's Day!
Today is World Teacher’s Day and we’re taking a moment to celebrate and thank teachers all over the world!
Every year millions of students spend a great deal of time at schools, learning and preparing for the next chapter in their lives. Education is a building block that is fundamental to everyone, everywhere. See, schools are like second homes and should ideally be packed with all of the essentials needed to succeed.
Right now:
570 million school children do not have clean drinking water

Nearly 443 million school days are missed worldwide...
...because of waterborne illness. Could you imagine what school might have been like for you if there were no clean water and no bathrooms?
WaterAid works in schools where there is no clean water and no reliable toilets for students and staff. Together, with teachers, we’re working to change that so that every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Check out these teachers in La Guajira, Colombia who bring clean water from their homes everyday for their students. We’ll be working with them to bring clean water to their school!
So today we take a moment to celebrate the teachers that are innovative beyond measures, whose classes are equally full of lessons, love and laughter and whose resilience has motivated students to reach their full potential no matter their surroundings.
