Making waves in Timor-Leste

“I am so grateful for the support of the Latter-day Saint Charities. Now, my family and friends have clean water near our homes, and we can spend more time learning and playing.” —Guilermino, age 11

Sophia

Sophia was 7 when she, together with her brother and sister (Alessio, now 6 and Valentina, 3) pooled the contents of their piggy banks and donated $7.29 to support clean water for everyone. Their act inspired their friends and family to donate, creating a gradual ripple effect across the community.

Latter-Day Saint Charities

Latter-Day Saint Charities provided fresh water to 600 people in the small island country of Timor-Leste.

Guilermino is one of those 600 people and is 11 years old. Before this project, he had to walk hours to collect clean water before going to school. Now, a clean water tap is located in his village.

"I am so grateful for the support of the Latter-day Saint Charities," Guilermino says. "Now, my family and friends have clean water near our homes, and we can spend more time learning and playing.

We join Guilermino in thanking the Latter-Day Saint Charities for their support and positive impact throughout the world.
