Tim Wainwright, Chief Executive

Tim joined WaterAid UK in May 2017, having previously led ADD International, an organisation working with the global disability movement. Tim has worked for Oxfam and VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas), in roles based in Bangkok and Beijing. Tim was also formerly the Chair of , the consortium of UK international development agencies.

Margaret Batty, Director of Policy and Campaigns

Margaret leads our global advocacy work, with the aim of ensuring everyone, everywhere has access to clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene in line with the UN Global Goals by 2030. Margaret previously worked as a Senior Civil Servant for the UK Government in the Cabinet Office.

Marcus leads our Communications and Fundraising department, which aims to engage individual supporters, corporates and decision-makers in our work transforming lives with clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene. He has previously worked at NSPCC and Everychild.

Savio Carvalho, Global Head of Campaigns

Savio leads on WaterAid’s international advocacy and campaigning, to achieve changes in law, policy and practice. He has worked for over two decades in the development and human rights sector in South and Central Asia, East Africa and Europe.

Henry Northover, Global Head of Policy

Henry leads WaterAid’s Global Policy team and specialises in governance issues. He has worked on international development policy issues for 20 years. Having started his career as a television researcher, Henry has also worked in the NGO sector and in government.

Jonathan Farr, Senior Policy Analyst

Jonathan leads our work on climate change and water security. Before working at WaterAid, Jonathan was First Secretary for Climate Change at the British Embassy in Beijing, working on China’s carbon market, international deforestation and climate legislation.

Lisa oversees WaterAid’s partnerships with the private and philanthropy sectors, including our work with H&M, HSBC and Andrex. Lisa previously led PwC’s corporate social responsibility work.
