Senegal is found on the westernmost edge of Africa’s coast – its capital city, Dakar, stretches out into the Atlantic Ocean.

The country is known across West Africa for its dedicated culture of oral history, and throughout the world for its music. More than 15 million people live in a sunny tropical climate, the economy driven largely by the country’s natural resources.

Our Senegal office in Dakar works to strengthen WaterAid’s impact and visibility in West Africa. It builds relationships with local governments and decision-makers who share our vision. Working this way brings people together, encouraging collaboration so that many voices can be heard and an even bigger impact can be made. Together, we are changing millions of lives.

The office is also responsible for providing support, advice and guidance to all our staff and partners delivering services in countries throughout the region.
