WaterAid India is registered as Jal Seva Charitable Foundation (JSCF) in the country as a not-for-profit company and is an associate member of WaterAid International.
Working in India since 1986, WaterAid has successfully implemented water, sanitation, and hygiene projects, extending benefits to some of the poorest and most vulnerable communities across 11+ of India’s 29 States.

844 million people across the globe lack access to clean water. India alone accounts for 163 million people living without access to clean drinking water.
In developing countries, women and children usually collect the water for their families. They walk miles each day to the nearest source, which is unprotected and likely to make them sick. Time spent walking keeps them from attending school, working or taking care of their families. But clean water changes everything.

We accept donations only in Indian Rupees on the WA site in India. However, you can send us Cheques/ Demand Drafts in any currency.

For donations made online, you'll receive a confirmation email within a few minutes of donating. Within 15 working days, you’ll also receive a tax receipt via email for your records. For donations made by check or money order, you'll receive a receipt by mail within 45 working days of your donation. If you haven’t gotten either of these, please write in to us at [email protected] and a member of our team will get back to you shortly.
All contributions to WaterAid India are tax deductible under Sec. 80-G of the IT Act. Exemption. Our receipt carries this message and the receipt will suffice for claiming tax exemption. The tax rebate is 50% of your contribution to WaterAid India.
