Corporate Social Responsibility

With the increasing value placed on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by customers, employees and wider stakeholders alike, CSR is a key element for businesses in a highly competitive environment.

Employee engagement

Employee fundraising can be a great way of bringing people together from all company departments and boosting job satisfaction, staff morale and retention.

Customer engagement

A cause related marketing campaign with WaterAid can help deliver commercial benefits to your organisation as well as raise vital funds for the world's poorest communities and awareness for our work.

Payroll giving

Payroll giving is a simple and tax effective way for employees to donate to WaterAid directly from their pay. Payroll giving with WaterAid can be an important element in demonstrating corporate social responsibility and supporting employee engagement.

Tap into WaterAid

Tap into WaterAid is a fantastic opportunity to transform tap water requests into donations for WaterAid, as well as being a rewarding experience for both you and your customers.

Our issue

748 million people do not have access to safe water and 2.5 billion do not have access to adequate sanitation. Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) are the building blocks for all other development - improving health, education and livelihoods.

Our strategy

Within the timeframe of our current Global Strategy 2009-15, we aim to increase our annual income from £43 million in 2009 to over £100 million by 2015, and to expand operations from 17 to 30 countries by 2015.

Our brand profile

Established over 30 years ago, WaterAid is one of the leading and fastest growing international development charities in the UK. Our iconic brand is recognised by over half of the UK population.

Our expertise

Working with local partners and communities, we deliver low-cost, easily maintained, sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene solutions.

Our partner relationship

Our current partners include Belu, H&M, J.P. Morgan, HSBC, Diageo, Unilever and the UK water industry.

Account management

WaterAid has a team of experienced account managers dedicated to corporate partnerships. Experienced in CSR, employee and customer engagement, our account managers are well equipped to support you and your company.

Funding models

Unrestricted or country restricted funding is our preferred way of working. Where this does not suit we can, subject to availability, arrange for donations to be restricted to a specific project.

New partnerships

WaterAid's experienced and professional corporate team are dedicated to building tailored partnerships which meet the strategic business objectives of new and existing partners.

H&M have supported WaterAid since 2002, through their annual H&M for Water beachwear collection, and have so far raised over £2.7 million. As a result of H&M's support more than 180,000 of the world's poorest people have been helped to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene.

HSBC

HSBC has partnered with WaterAid, WWF and Earthwatch to establish a five-year $100 million Water Programme that will deliver a powerful combination of water provision, protection and education, resulting in the most ground-breaking water programme committed to by a financial organisation.
